Who we support

We support a wide range of charities and community groups; these can be small projects
that individual clubs have chosen to support, to larger national and international organisations. These are some of the charities that we are continuing to support during 2020-2021.

District Chairman Helen has chosen to continue to

have SANDS as the charity she would like us all to

support until her term of office ends in December.

This national charity works to reduce the

number of babies dying and to improve care and

support for anyone affected by the death of a baby.

Every day in the UK around 15 babies die before,

during or soon after birth. That means every 90 minutes

a family is faced with the devastation of the death of

their baby. This is unacceptable.

As well as fundraising, we are supporting this charity

by knitting & crocheting blankets to go in the Memory

Boxes that the charity provides for parents and families

who have lost a baby. The picture on the right shows

some of the items created by members of Inner Wheel

District 5 Clubs. Click here for the patterns if you'd like

to get involved.

Our Association International Service Committee

Chairman, Shamim Govani, has chosen Working

Together to Prevent Malaria as her fundraising

project for the year. Inner Wheel will be working in

partnership with The Butterfly Tree and Medical Aid Films.

The focus will be to raise awareness of the need to

prevent Malaria and also to raise funds.

Dr Bina Vyas is the International Inner Wheel

President for 2020-2021. She has chosen Lead

The Change as her theme for the year in office.

Dr Vyas has set out her vision for how the Inner Wheel

movement can lead the changes that need to

happen for our societies to keep pace withe

changing times in which we live. Visit the IIW website

to find out more.

Our Association President, Enid Law has chosen

Riding for the Disabled as her charity for this year.

This national charity enriches the lives of over 25,000

disabled children and adults with fun activities like riding

and carriage driving.

Clubs throughout District 5 will be raising funds to

support this valuable work.

I have always enjoyed supporting Inner Wheel and have
made some fabulous friends. Being a member has opened my
eyes to the amazing work carried out both locally and throughout the world by our organisation of voluntary women. I feel a great sense of pride in my membership.
