The members of the Inner Wheel Club of Buxton have been busy raising funds for their local hospice, Blythe House Hospicecare, that provides support for people across the High Peak who are living with life-limiting illnesses, including cancer.
On a recent, lovely sunny day a cheque for the total funds raised during 2020-2021 was presented to Caroline Morgan who is the fundraising manager for the hospice.
In her letter of thanks Caroline noted that "these donations over the past year will help Blythe House Hospicecare / Helen’s Trust to continue to provide care for people in your local area who are affected by life-limiting illnesses including cancer, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and neurological conditions such as motor neurone disease. We are busier than ever, seeing an increase of two thirds for hospice at home referrals in the last quarter and we know we are going to continue to increase in demand for all services as the aftermath of Covid comes to light."
